Overview

The excited trippers are well prepared for their 50 mile journey stopping at the local 'Wheel of Fortune', to load essential supplies of beer before setting off for Sandringham. After a 'comfort' stop at Fakenham they picnic in Anmer Park grounds before heading into the show ground to take in all the stands and sights. Signs are in the car park that it's a popular event with everyone hoping to catch a glimpse of their royal host and President of the show this year - King George VI.

More importantly, the Alpington camera man, Geoffrey Campling is well poised to film their Royal Highnesses the King, Queen Elizabeth and Princess Margaret as the party pull up at their pavilion. With this shot in the bag, Geoffrey explores other interesting trade stands and the parades of cattle, horses and infantry in the Grand Ring before another bonus sighting of the royals. A no doubt weary but happy crowd picnic again by the buses before their return home with the prospect of seeing the film of their very special day out later in the year.
