Rochdale Tram Ride (1905)
Splendid views of Edwardian Rochdale from the front of a tram after a recent dusting of snow.
Overview
The appearance of a cameraman at the front of a tram car creates quite a stir among passersby - especially the young boys of the town, who run excitedly in front of the tram as it climbs a hill. In one possibly staged sequence two youths struggle with their bicycle; in another a lad driving a horse and cart releases the reins and jumps up to draw attention to himself as the tram draws past.
