Overview
The Prince and Princess of Wales, later King George V and Queen Mary, undertook an extensive tour of India between November 1905 and March 1906. They both developed an attachment to the country following the visit, though it has been noted that their tour was carefully planned to ensure that they were “protected from the true plight of the Indian people”. The long procession of elephants in this film was likely part of the celebrations for the visit.
