Play is Education
Learning is fun, but fun also means learning for Burnley nursery school children.

Overview
A celebration of children's play here, from Burnley filmmaker Mary Corner, as the pupils of Howard St nursery school go on a journey of discovery. Discovery through fun, that is, as the youngsters make the most of being active outdoors. And if it rains, they can don a mac and wellies, or head indoors to play with plasticine and paint, or maybe get up close with a starfish at the nature table.
Mary Corner was headmistress of Howard St Nursery School for many years, and had great experience of working with children in pre-school situations. She was a highly skilled filmmaker, a member of Burnley Cine Club, and her films provide an excellent lasting record of the early education of Burnley children.
