An independent charity and company based at the University of Lincoln, MACE acquires, catalogues, preserves and makes widely available moving image materials that inform our understanding of the diverse cultures and histories of communities between the Lincolnshire coast and the Welsh border.

Overview
There's an army massing in the Boat Inn at Penkridge in Staffordshire but the landlord's taking aren't up. John Swallow investigates the strange goings on at the pub that is being over-run by toy soldiers. Just who is the mysterious 'phantom' that is bombarding the pub with this pint-sized collection of soldiers, sailors and pirates?
John Swallow was no stranger to this sort of story as the previous year he was hunting another 'phantom' who was mysteriously leaving pictures of the singer Mario Lanza around pubs in the Black Country. We may never know if these two West Midlands pub fiends with their curious habits were linked...
