Fragment of a trailer for Percy Honri's one-man show which toured the London and suburban music halls
Percy Honri was a well-known singer and virtuoso concertina player who toured music halls in his own elaborate stage revues. This trailer, of which only this fragment survives, was made on commission by Cecil Hepworth, apparently during the war when Honri was busy fundraising. The event advertised may have been part of his very busy music hall schedule in 1917 or his residency at the London Palladium in 1918.
Honri was an early adopter of film as a promotional tool, firstly commissioning Mitchell & Kenyon to make Mr Moon to promote his show Concordia, then Charles Urban to make Quick Change Act.
