Overview

The story of the ancient Lancashire parish of Croston is celebrated here as local people enact historical scenes, with young and old - and the occasional horse - cheerfully taking part. As well as this pageant, staged to coincide with the 1951 Festival of Britain, we see footage from several 'Coffee Days', the curious name for the Procession of Witness around the village with floral floats.
