Ernest Charles Jordan II, one of the 11 children of Newport builder, Ernest Charles Jordan, films his town’s carnival day. The Jordans owned the White Rose Laundry and included in this film is a shot of a rival’s van – the Gwent Launderers, Newport. There are floats – including a life-boat float – and fancy-dressed individuals, a Carnival Queen and a Scottish marching band.
