Mummers

Reviving the ancient folk tales of Gloucestershire.

The Waterley Bottom Mummers are keeping alive a tradition in theatre that probably predates theatre itself. The travelling company, with their distinctive costumes, bring ancient folk legends and traditional tales to the local pubs of rural Gloucestershire. It may date from a Victorian revival but beneath the skin the birth of theatre can be witnessed.
