        At Brockton in Shropshire local people have had enough of a single village pump supplying all the village's water. This item for ATV's local news magazine, Midland Montage gives weight to a campaign led by villager Edith Cooper for piped water. Spare a thought for the local character interviewed; he's no stranger to the problem having put up with the pump for fifty two years!

        The local MP, Christopher Holland-Martin, that villagers were approaching died in April 1960 leading to a by-election for the Ludlow seat.
