The Media Archive for Central England is the public screen archive for the East and West Midlands. An independent charity and company based at the University of Lincoln, MACE acquires, catalogues, preserves and makes widely available moving image materials that inform our understanding of the diverse cultures and histories of communities between the Lincolnshire coast and the Welsh border.

Overview
There's work to be done in the Northamptonshire village of Lutton and it was a nice day for it when the cameras from ATV's Midland Montage visited in 1961. This short piece of film shows villagers tidying gardens, weeding and trimming (although two men feature who think they've already earned a drink for all their hard work). A postcard image of Britain's much envied thatched cottage and village green life.
