Overview
It’s hard to keep a straight face while watching this competitive walking event, featuring hundreds of policeman, all awkward motion and serious faces. The event is the British Police Walking Championship from Barking to Southend, and the cameras capture them moving from Barking through the Essex suburbs before concentrating on the winner, F Rickards of K Division, London. At the race’s end, Rickards is held aloft by the crowd as he thirstily drains a tankard.
