London Street Scene
Vivid images of Victorian London - but where?
Non-Fiction 1900 2 mins
Overview
This is a lively film record, tentatively attributed to Victorian film pioneer RW Paul, of a thronging thoroughfare in central London - but which thoroughfare? Horse drawn cabs are particularly prominent and their lettering gives clues to where we must be. If you can identify the location, please let us know.
The second part of the film seems to be a completely extraneous item - part of the 'fire brigade turn-out' genre which was also popular with early filmmakers.
