Granny's Is

A fragmented, personal, sometimes confrontational portrait of the filmmaker’s grandmother

Animation & Artists Moving Image 1989 49 mins Silent

Overview

Visionary film artist and technological innovator David Larcher has made several epic works over more than four decades. Granny’s Is fragments the personal home movie aesthetic, sending it down a psychedelic worm hole. Exploring his relationship to his granny in confrontational fashion, he reflects on and refracts images of the past with a Proustian sense of troubled loss.
