Glimpses of Stratford-upon-Avon in Bygone Days
Take a tour round Edwardian Stratford in this intriguing early travelogue by Brummie film showman Waller Jeffs
Overview
Enjoy a day in the life of Stratford-upon-Avon's Edwardian residents, including some of the town's top brass, in this fascinating early travelogue by Birmingham film showman Waller Jeffs. After some shiny new motor cars pick up the mayor and councillors from the town hall, we follow the perennial tourist route on to Anne Hathaway's cottage and a traditional maypole dance.
Waller Jeffs worked as a film exhibitor in the early 1900s, bringing film shows to the Curzon Hall in Birmingham and producing travelling shows until 1912.
