        Overview

An amateur film from 1937 of a camp holiday in Horsted Keynes, Sussex, for the members of the 11th company of the Girls' Guildry. The film features the girls playing games –including a knitting race - and enjoying the countryside around the picturesque Sussex village.

The Girls' Guildry was one of the three organisations - with The Girls' Life Brigade, and The Girls' Brigade of Ireland - that joined together in 1968 to form The Girls’ Brigade. Former Prime Minister Harold MacMillan was a resident of Horsted Keynes where he once played host to President Kennedy.
