Overview

The popular Yorkshire soap-opera Emmerdale becomes all the more interesting to us as we are invited behind the scenes to see the village of Esholt be transformed into one of British TV’s most famous fictional locations. We are shown many shots of crew members preparing technical equipment and rearranging the local environment, in addition to the interesting opinions from Esholt’s villagers.

Emmerdale is one of the longest running TV shows in the UK. The first programme was aired in 1972 and is believed to attract millions of viewers every time it is broadcast. The show has been filmed in Yorkshire since its inception. Emmerdale is popular in many countries around the world, including Australia and New Zealand.
