Overview

Making camp on a remote farm at Covehithe, Suffolk must have been a wonderful adventure for a young Essex boy but for Mum, camping and comfort just didn't seem to go together. This charming home movie records the 1932 summer holiday of the Hudson family spent in a field of a friendly farmer where they fished off the beach and enjoyed the simple life 'al fresco'. The family sleeping arrangements in the back of the 3 litre Sunbeam were quite innovative!

What's more the local farmer had children and an amazing collection of animals to play with - including a horseriding dog!
