Chairing of the Bard
Prime Minister Lloyd George pays his annual visit to the Eisteddfod celebrations in Wales.
Overview
This Gaumont Graphic newsreel shows part of the Gorsedd ceremony held at each Eisteddfod, on this occasion within the grounds of Caernarfon Castle. The crowd is addressed in song, and the Archdruid Dyfed drinks from the Corn Hirlas. The second scene shows Prime Minister Lloyd George leaving Carnarvon Pavilion after his annual address, passing with minimal security among his supporters.
