Overview
The 'King' in his carriage pulled by a pantomime horse leads off Henley in Arden's carnival parade for 1933. A large crowd has gathered in the Warwickshire town for the festivities and this amateur film, which begins with the crowning of the queen and is complete with the typical carnival clowning, captures events beautifully. Trade displays including the car manufacturer Armstrong Siddeley from nearby Coventry and a kazoo band from Redditch also keep in step.
The filmmakers were W.H. Williams and his son Noel Bond-Williams from nearby Wootton Wawen in Warwickshire.
