        Overview

Carnivals are like pantomimes in that they retain an underlying tradition that can be readily updated with topical references to keep things fresh. For this parade in Coseley we have the usual array of floats and marching bands but a sign stating 'No Mods and Rockers', a 'My Fair Lady' inspired display and a couple of wobbly looking home-made Daleks place this display firmly in the mid-1960s.

These scenes were shot by Joe Smith who was from the nearby Black Country village of Bradley.
