Overview

A variety of floats and locals in fancy dress parade through the streets of Llanidloes. There are children dressed as e.g. a chimney sweep and the Hunchback of Notre Dame, and groups of men dressed as characters from the Magic Roundabout and as the [Robertson's] Marmalade Gang of ‘Golliwogs’. There are topical floats, one of Clywedog Dam which was completed in 1967 and one, probably controversially for a carnival of this nature, showing the situation in Northern Ireland.
