Overview
Eitienne, a neuroscientist who is working around ideas of self awareness, is haunted by his patient, who he calls 'Marathon Man' a man who cannot move his own body unless he sees it.
For her Jarman Award commission, Emily Wardill produced a series of five short films, collectively titled Carlyle's Hands. Ostensibly a contemporary love story, Carlyle's Hands sees Wardill subtly unpack the narrative forms of the thriller to explore themes of self awareness, questions of perception and investigations into our own consciousness. Part of the Derek Jarman Awards collection.
