At Wessex Film and Sound Archive you can see and hear history, from late Victorian times to the present day, through moving images and sound recordings. The Archive contains over 36,000 film and sound recordings relating to Hampshire, the Isle of Wight, Berkshire, Oxfordshire and Buckinghamshire, including film and tapes of local TV and radio.

Overview
Speed features in this film from 1961. From high-octane thrills at Goodwood to the gentler pace of the London to Brighton Vintage Car Rally. Brighton also hosts speed trials along Madeira Drive, with veteran racing cars and motorcycles roaring up and down in front of thousands of spectators. Finally, we’re at Farnborough to see Cold War jets in action. Britain’s V Bomber force is on display, as well as Lightnings and Hawker Hunters flying in dazzling formation.
