The boating holiday business was big on the Broads but fleet hire firm Blakes still had to advertise to entice 'would be sailors' to come onboard.

The popularity of Broads holidays reached a peak after the war, with many keen to experience their own floating holiday exploring the delights of the rivers and waterways. But it was a competitive market and Blakes commissioned this film to show off their fleet of 750 Broads hire craft and attract more first timers to hire their own vessel for a week of fresh air and freedom.
