The Media Archive for Central England is the public screen archive for the East and West Midlands. An independent charity and company based at the University of Lincoln, MACE acquires, catalogues, preserves and makes widely available moving image materials that inform our understanding of the diverse cultures and histories of communities between the Lincolnshire coast and the Welsh border.

Overview
A bright and colourful carnival with lots of 1970s fashion moments filmed at Braunstone in Leicester by Harold Gamble. Millfield School plays host to this highlight of the 1973 calendar with the usual array of stalls as well as a police dog display, brass band and the women from the local keep fit group. Towards the end of the reel the Millfield Marvels take on the Millfield Rebels in an energetic football match - complete with some very dubious prizes.
