A carnival atmosphere imbues these wonderful snapshots of Cookham's 1926 regatta, held on 2 September. Enthusiastic crowds line the Thames to watch the fun as decorated canoes and swimmers in fancy dress jostle with a steam-powered pirate ship, its motley crew about to receive an unexpected dip, or two.
