Belmont in the Snow
The locals of Belmont, Sutton, come out to enjoy the thick sheets of snow. The fields of pure white become the site for fun and whimsy.

Overview
Opening shots of the trees buried in sheer white testify for the wonderfully deep snow in this short film. A man dons his skis and challenges the landscape, and children play in the winter wonderland with their dogs. And then, of course, a snowball fight proceeds appropriately between the local kids. The children pose triumphantly with their snowman, before launching loaded snowballs at the camera. The short concludes as the children enjoy the extraordinary weather.
Shot by amateur filmmaker Ivan Bawtree, formerly a photographer for the British Red Cross during the First World War. This film is from the collection of Sutton Archives, a member of the London's Screen Archives Network.
