The 'special relationship' is sorely tested when a cigar-chomping American visitor does little but complain about the food served up in his hotel, much to the exasperation of the ever patient, resplendently moustached waiter. If it is not the steaks that are too small for our New York friend, then it is the meagre sized melons. But patience has its limits - will the waiter have the last laugh?
