Designed as a basic course in technique for the influx of new talent to the industry at the advent of commercial television, this friendly training film provides a guide “for people who don’t know how to use television cameras”. The avuncular presenter gives detailed explanations of the use of lenses, cutting and fading, complete with helpful examples. Created for staff arriving at the newly formed ITV, it’s a fascinating insight into the style and form of early television.
