A Follow Me Sing Song No.2

Forget your troubles with this wartime cinema singalong.

1940 4 mins

What better way to kick off a wartime cinema trip and forget your troubles than a good old singalong? This edition of the Follow Me series features pianist Charlie Kunz hammering out a medley of chirpy numbers such as 'You Belong to Glasgow', 'Roamin' in the Gloamin'' and 'I Do Like to Be Beside the Seaside'. On-screen lyrics not required: popular song was deeply embedded in British culture by the 1940s and a powerful morale booster during WWII, only declining with the advent of television.
