A young couple have a life-changing picnic in the forest, in this short film from Nobuhiko Obayashi (House/Hausu)

Overview
A young couple have a life-changing picnic in the forest, in this short film from Nobuhiko Obayashi (House/Hausu 1977). Like The Girl in the Picture (also on BFI Player), Thursday/Mokuyobi is another example from Obayashi's foundational seishun eiga (“youth films”) period, but here he seems equally inspired by the pastoral poeticism of European classics like People on Sunday (1930) and Partie de campagne (1946).
