Overview

Björn Andrésen was thrust into the limelight at the age of 16 with the release of Death in Venice and was subsequently dubbed by Visconti ‘The Most Beautiful Boy in the World’. This sensitive documentary explores how the highs and lows of fame at a young age have resonated throughout Andrésen’s life. Lindström and Petri intelligently navigate early archive footage of a shy boy auditioning for a life-changing role, through to Andrésen’s return to acting in Midsommar and his present-day struggles and reflections on family tragedies. Anna von Hausswolff’s eerie score adds texture to this affecting and thoughtful portrait.
