O Lucky Man!
A coffee salesman travels England in Lindsay Anderson's profane and satiric vision of English high and low life.
Director: Lindsay Anderson
Overview
Lindsay Anderson and screenwriter David Sherwin reworked Malcolm McDowell’s treatment – based on his own experiences – into a sprawling, epic journey with echoes of ‘Candide’. Mick Travis, a coffee salesman, travels through England, with Alan Price and his band on hand to provide a mordant commentary on the action. It took audiences a while to catch up with Anderson’s profane and satiric vision of English high and low life.
