Magnetic Beats

1980s Brittany. Philippe lives in the shadow of his brother, Jerome. But when the threat of military service looms, Philippe has no choice but to leave for West Berlin.

The birth of independent radio stations, a left-wing government in power, and the start of the 1980's provide the backdrop for the lives of two brothers who want to change the world. Thanks to its audacious directing, remarkable use of sound, and the acting talent of Timothée Robart, this first feature film accurately portrays the complexity of its era, from political disillusionment to the liberating energy of rock’n’roll.
