Overview

Tina and Megi couldn’t be more different, but they share two things: a flat in Tbilisi and the desire to escape. For Tina, newly independent following an abusive marriage that tore her life apart, escape lies in the form of an apartment with her new boyfriend. But until then she’s stuck with the hard-partying Megi, who constantly flouts Covid regulations and is desperate to move to New York. As Tina struggles to find her independence, she and Megi end up forming a close bond that promises a form of escape that neither woman anticipated. Co-written with lead actor Taki Mumladze, Bliadze’s film is a subtle and warm study of the realities of modern womanhood, the impact of Covid in contemporary Georgia and the radical power of female intimacy. Screened as part of the Love strand. “A charming, affective drama that explores the awkwardness and enforced intimacy of a flatshare” Anna Smith, Deadline Hollywood Daily.
