Mike Leigh's sports-infused comedy short stars Eddie Marsan as a frantic wheeler-dealer Perry who is always trying to close a deal, this time with the assistance of his taxi driver dad (Sam Kelley), Perry’s wife Debbie (Samantha Spiro) and their twin daughters. Produced as part of the 2012 Cultural Olympiad and set in the East End with the site of the Olympics as the backdrop (although never featuring prominently), A Running Jump is a wildly entertaining and energetic short.
