An adolescent girl discovers the difference between sex and love while holidaying at an Australian ski resort, in this dreamily lyrical debut feature from Cate Shortland (Lore, Berlin Syndrome). With its stunning photography of an unusually wintry Australian terrain and a highly atmospheric electronic soundtrack by Decoder Ring, Somersault marries an almost European sensibility to its strikingly candid performances from Abbie Cornish (Bright Star) and Sam Worthington (Avatar), who both shine in their respective breakthrough roles.
