Overview

As the Brothers find themselves caught up in escalating tensions between two small countries - and on different sides - bad feeling and freely traded insults soon begin to escalate to the brink of war. Duck Soup was released to critical apathy in 1933, with most observers feeling it a sub-par effort. Behind-the-scenes contractual wrangling also saw the troupe sever their ties with Paramount Studios upon the film's completion. But Duck Soup’s reputation has continue to grow since its initial release and it's now widely considered to be their masterpiece - and one of the greatest film comedies of all time.
