Overview

Nadeem embarks on a transformative personal journey. After stumbling at the first hurdle in his observation of Buddhist monks in Japan, he is banished for his clumsy disruptions. Nadeem befriends a monk on a lower rung of the holy hierarchy, Ryushin, who shares his wisdom as well as his love for heavy metal. Raised Muslim, Nadeem struggles with his own inconsistencies and searches for a way to connect the different parts of his life and people he loves. Often funny, sometimes brutally honest, Crows Are White is a film about embracing our contradictions and the messy parts where our beliefs, values, truths and desires converge. It is also a testament to the fact that we are a constant work in progress. Screened as part of the Journey strand. “A film that abounds in lovely oddities and gently loony surprises” Sheri Linden, Hollywood Reporter.
