Overview
Filmed by Claude Lanzmann during the preparation of what would become his legendary documentary Shoah, The Four Sisters is based on interviews with four extraordinary and courageous women and their gripping accounts of their experiences during the Holocaust. In this episode, Paula Biren, a Holocaust survivor from Poland now living in America, tells the story of how she navigated her life in the ghetto by taking on jobs such as being a lady police officer who would arrest black marketeers for deportation.
