Cuban Fury
Nick Frost plays the one-time teen salsa champion, lured back to the dancefloor in an attempt to win the girl of his dreams.
Comedy 2013 98 mins
Director: James Griffiths
Overview
Bruce (Nick Frost) is a former teen salsa champion who gave up dancing after being brutally bullied. Years later, he’s lured back to the dancefloor when he finds out his new boss, with whom he’s head-over-heels, is also keen on salsa dancing. Reuniting with his old dance teacher Ron (Ian McShane) Bruce has to confront the past in order to win the girl of his dreams.
Admittedly an attempt to translate some of Strictly Come Dancing’s small-screen success into cinematic gold, Cuban Fury nevertheless has genuine heart in spades. Frost displays a considerable degree of leading-man charm while McShane steals the show as his grizzled mentor.
