Workers Leaving Bamford's Works, Moseley (1900)

The all-male workforce heads home from a factory in Victorian Birmingham.

Non-Fiction 1900 2 mins Silent

Overview

Bamford’s is believed to have been a glass manufacturer, perhaps in Moseley in Birmingham, or perhaps in Mossley in Manchester. Unusually for films in the Mitchell and Kenyon collection, the workforce is all male. Most of the men glance towards the camera and briskly continue on their way - though this may be a consequence of incorrect film speed rather than the men’s walking pace.
