Northern Ireland’s first prime minister unveils the statue of Edward Carson, leading figure of Irish and then Ulster Unionism. To this day the statue bestrides the grounds of Stormont: home when this film was taken of Northern Ireland’s Protestant-dominated parliament, today of its power-sharing assembly. The film is a story from an issue of the newsreel Gaumont Graphic.
