Overview

Golden sands and sunshine greet Clacton holidaymakers, but there is more to this town than the beach, says amateur filmmaker Mr Gregory. Blazes of colour from the seafront gardens, two theatres, and a number of sports activities in addition to the pier amusements, provide recreation for its year-round inhabitants as well as the seasonal vacationers. Captured on Super 8, this amateur filmmaker and Essex retiree, presents Clacton-on-Sea in the early nineteen eighties.

PLEASE NOTE: Commentary by the filmmaker features, starting three minutes into the film. The film also originally featured muzak reminiscent of a holiday mood but unfortunately has been removed because of copyright restrictions.
