Overview

Coal mining had always been essential to Temple Normaton's survival. It was the reason it existed and most of the villagers depended on it for their income. Without mining the North East Derbyshire village doesn't appear to have much of a future. The local children, unburdened by such concerns make the most of a fall of snow that helps to carpet the slag heaps and streets of the pit village in uncharacteristic white.
