Overview

Modelling the latest fashion craze the ‘maxi dress’ on the streets of the Barbican in Plymouth. The earliest appearance of the maxi dress was in 1968, by designer Osca de La Renta. The maxi skirt had begun to outdo the popularity of the miniskirt by the late 60s. Usually lace and worn slightly shy of the ankle, todays fashion dictates a more cotton style worn down to the heel. By the 70s maxi coats and midi lengths were also in fashion.

This particular dress has a 'Sarong-Style' and is demonstrated in many different ways.
