Overview

We can enjoy a real slice of everyday life with these mid 1960s views of the market at Burton upon Trent shot by Bill Jones. The early sections show the annual running of the Autumn Statutes Fair, which has been part of Burton life since the 13th century when the Staffordshire town was granted a market charter. The Pat Collins Funfair, which features here, continues to be associated with the Statutes Fair and has provided the entertainments since the 19th century.
