Overview
The patina of time and wear does little to diminish the startling effect of being placed in the middle of busy Victorian traffic. Horse-drawn buses and carts weave their complex patterns before the camera lens bringing an arresting immediacy across time. It's films like this that bring home the impact moving pictures must have made on late-Victorian audiences.
