Stand on the Prime Meridian line at the Royal Observatory in Greenwich and wonder at lost views across the River Thames
From the collection of:
Overview
A short amateur film which, starting on a hill in Greenwich Park, looks upon the Royal Observatory and captures tourists gathering on the Prime Meridian Line. Moving on, it is worth pausing the film as the camera looks down past Queen's House to West India Docks, where commercial traffic would have begun to decline in the early 1970s, and where construction on Canary Wharf would soon take place.
This film is from the collection of Redbridge Museum, Local Studies and Archives, a member of the London's Screen Archives Network.
